The Importance Of Right Disposal Of Car Salvage

November 13th, 2008

As we see that the number of cars have increased immensely on roads, so is the problem of handling the scarp car and car salvage. The increase in the number of cars has been immense since banks have started to give cars on lease. So now people with low income can also afford to have their own car, which is exactly what’s happening.

According to an estimate there are almost two million vehicles which need to be disposed off every year, in UK. If they are not handled with care the can be a great threat to environment. As there is a lot of toxic material in cars, in the shape of fuel, break oil, coolant, transmission oil, screen wash etc. But the bad fact is that not all of the cars are disposed off in the proper environment friendly way. Not all auto salvage has proper mechanism of dealing with the matter.

The people owning breaker yard are mostly concerned with the inner parts of the car’s body and hence don’t take in to account that the upper material which they mostly burn, can be very toxic for the environment in which we all live and breath.

As a good citizen and human being it becomes your responsibility to have check and see what’s being done to your car after you sell it in scrap or somewhere else? There are laws to help you if you find something is done to the car which is harmful for environment. So in that case you must consult the authorities.
