If you want to have decorations that is different from all others; the antique light with the 18th century jar and cover can be the best choice of all. Produced for the first time during the famous imperial kilns at Jingdezhen in China, these jars and covers were offshoot of porcelain artistry common among the Chinese in those days. Today, these items not only revive the memories of the golden past but also make excellent items for antique lighting.

In fact the jars and covers besides the dishes and plates were part of the great pastel artistry in Yongzhen in China. Decorative pastel palette that included touches of multiple colours was also reflected very well in these items for antique lighting. While jars were usually made with multiple coloured porcelain with imperial quality decorations covers were put on turned maple wood stands. Both jars and covers were of free standing and could be removed from the stand at any time.

Though they were there for centuries, the antique lighting accessories gained prominence in the first part of the 18th century when emperor Yongzhen gave the production recognition during 1723-35. Passionate lovers of art and craft, the Yongzhen emperor continued sponsoring this form of artifacts even after that.

A wide range of pastel colours also came up during that period. Antique lamps were created using a working table lamp and an antique art work completed with low drum shape cover. Unlike chandeliers that are used for illumination, these types of antique lamps are used for softer pool of lights creating feeling of seclusion.
